NetPoint 1.2 has been released.  Some of the cool features in this release are software compliance, RSS enabled search results, and on-demand polling.  Check out the list full list of enhancements on the What's New page.  Documentation will be coming soon.

NetPoint 1.2 now runs on SQL Server 2005.  If you don't have a license for SQL Server 2005, you can obtain SQL Server 2005 Express for free.  Please follow the instructions on the FAQ page for installing SQL Server 2005 Express.

For those of you upgrading from NetPoint 1.1, I recommend uninstalling NetPoint 1.1 and its SQL Server 2000 (or MSDE) database.  Then install SQL Server 2005 (or SQL Server 2005 Express) and run the NetPoint 1.2 setup as normal to resetup the database.  Please note by doing this you will lose all settings and inventory collected by NetPoint 1.1, however they can be rebuilt with 1.2.  At this time no alternate upgrade path is supported.
